The Anna Maria Island Privateers Fourth of July Parade is a beloved event that takes place every year on July 4. It's the perfect warm-up for later fireworks and other festivities. The crew all comes together at 10:00 a.m. and will be on the march until 12:30 p.m. with themed floats and other delights. The route runs from Coquina Beach to the Anna Maria City Pier. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus #7052, the annual Fourth of July Picnic helps to honor this occasion while creating opportunities to give back to the community. It starts out with a patriotic ceremony at 11:30 a.m., followed by the picnic at noon. Barbecued lunch offerings will be available, including hamburgers, corn, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, bratwurst, and an ice cream sundae bar for dessert.
