Sarasota Wine

Can you picture yourself relaxing in the sun, sipping a glass of chilled white wine? Or perhaps you're a red wine drinker, and your ultimate fantasy is to be nestled on a couch, sipping a glass of Pinot Noir with a few friends. In either case, the wine bars and wineries around Sarasota can help make that happen. Here are a few top spots our real estate agents recommend visiting for a glass of vino in the coming months.

  • Sage: 1216 1st St., Sarasota, FL 34236
Sage is a gorgeous restaurant located inside the historic Sarasota Times Building. With a chef-designed menu, they focus on international cuisine and creative dishes. Their wine list is also extensive, offering a bit of everything from Italian wines to California blends.

Order your glass of wine to sip at the vintage, copper bar. There's also a rooftop bar, which is a lovely place to relax under the stars. Don't forget to pair your wine with a delicious entree, such as the Black Cod in a Ginger-Mirin Soy Glaze, or the Statler Chicken Breast in Indian Curry Sauce. The servers can recommend the perfect pairing!

  • Baker & Wife: 2157 Siesta Dr., Sarasota, FL 34236
If you prefer more of a relaxed, cafe-style atmosphere, Baker & Wife is a great place to order wine. They create handcrafted cuisine and cocktails using globally sourced ingredients, and they pour wines from Italy, France, and Chile. Guests rave about the Chateau Les Millaux, a Merlot from Bordeaux, France.

Don't forget to order an appetizer to share. The Herb & Garlic Focaccia pairs beautifully with white wine, and the Beef Carpaccio is a great option with Merlot and other dry reds.

  • Michael's Wine Cellar: 1283 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34239
If you'd like to buy a bottle of wine to enjoy at home or at a friend's place, Michael's Wine Cellar is the place to go. This shop is stocked, floor to ceiling, with many different varieties of wine. They've been in business for more than 30 years and are a true favorite among the locals.

Michael's Wine Cellar has a great selection of 2020 Bordeaux. They also have many incredible wines under $20. Talk to their in-store wine experts to learn about wine and wine pairing.

  • Cooper's Hawk: 3130 Fruitville Commons Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34240
    Cooper's Hawk
is a winery and restaurant that has both a tasting room and a dining room. If you're looking to discover new wines or develop your palate, consider visiting for a wine-tasting session. They have lots of delicious whites, including Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

If you're in the mood for a meal, you can't go wrong with the Pretzel-Covered Pork Chop. It pairs perfectly with an oaky Chardonnay or Pinot Noir.

  • Cask & Ale: 1548 Main St., Sarasota, FL 34236
    Cask & Ale
is primarily a whiskey bar, but they have a great wine list and a cozy atmosphere, too. If you visit during Happy Hour, you can enjoy $5 glasses of house wine and some incredible appetizer deals.

One favorite at Cask & Ale is the Mickey D Burger, which is only $6 during Happy Hour. The ceviche is also delicious and pairs well with sweeter white wines such as Riesling. Or, you can opt for a Philly Cheesesteak Egg Roll with a glass of Pinot Noir.

Whether you prefer to sip wine in a restaurant, at a wine bar, or in a dedicated tasting room, Sarasota has a lot to offer. We hope you enjoy your visit to these top wine destinations. Contact us if you're looking for Sarasota homes for sale nearby.
