BRADENTON, FL, December 20, 2022 – Each year as the holidays approach, Sandy Greiner's thoughts turn to families who are struggling financially to keep their beloved pets at home with them. Sandy is a Broker Associate with Wagner Realty, and leader of The Greiner Group, a team of six REALTORS who work out of the company's Corporate Office on Cortez Road. "Eleven years ago, I decided to throw a holiday luncheon party with a purpose" says Sandy, "and since then it has grown into a popular event for our agents. They arrive with food and supplies for the Humane Society of Manatee County (HSMC)." This year's party was held on December 15th and the donations from our holiday get-together filled the Manatee Humane Society's truck that even included filling up the passenger seat. Samantha Harris, Event and Volunteer Coordinator of the HSMC was overjoyed when she saw the halls of Wagner Realty lined up with bags and bags of food and supplies and admitted that she should of brought more help to load the truck. She was thrilled to also accept over $200 in contributions.
The Humane Society of Manatee County is a 501(c)(3), this not for profit animal welfare organization and is considered the lead animal welfare agency in Manatee County. The organization operates a no-kill shelter, the Second Chance Adoption Center located at 2515 14th Street W. and a veterinary clinic / high volume spay and neuter clinic at 2415 14th Street W. in downtown Bradenton.
Each year the Second Chance Adoption Center rehomes more than 1,000 dogs and cats through their comprehensive rehabilitation and adoption program. Many of the animals that enter the adoption program are medically challenged or have behavioral challenges. Each animal in the adoption center receives the highest quality care, medical care and behavioral assessment and training to complete the rehabilitation process resulting in a successful adoption into a new loving home.
"We are sincerely grateful to Sandy Greiner, The Greiner Group, the staff and agents at Wagner Realty" said Rick Yocum, Executive Director of Humane Society of Manatee County, adding "our shelter depends on the year-round compassion and commitment of our community and I'd encourage those interested in supporting the Humane Society to go to www.humanemanatee.org for more information."
