Hiking Trails in Sarasota

From Bradenton down to Sarasota, there are miles of gorgeous preserved hiking trails for you and your children to explore. Plus, with Florida's fantastic year-round weather, these trails can be enjoyed all year long! Our REALTORS® highlight some of the hiking trails your whole family can enjoy in our area.

  • Quick Point Nature Preserve — 100 Gulf of Mexico Dr., Longboat Key, FL 34228
Take a drive west of Sarasota and stroll through Quick Point Nature Preserve while you're searching for Longboat Key homes for sale. This 34-acre park right on the water features short and easy trails that are excellent for those desiring an easy and breezy walk along the beach. Tidal pools and quiet trails offer fantastic opportunities for wildlife viewing. There are also plenty of benches to sit and relax on if your little ones need to rest their feet.

  • Red Bug Slough Preserve — 5200 Beneva Rd., Sarasota, FL 34231
Bring the whole family on a nature walk — dogs included! Red Bug Slough Preserve offers 72-acres of spectacular greenspace, including several miles of hiking trails. Surrounded by lovely suburban Sarasota homes for sale, this preserve also features a picnic, playground, and fishing pier where you can spend hours enjoying the outdoors.

  • The Celery Fields — 999 Center Rd., Sarasota, FL 34240
Enjoy wildlife watching without venturing too far from Sarasota homes for sale, The Celery Fields contains more than 400-acres of marshlands, canals, wetlands, and deep ponds where dozens of diverse bird species call home. This natural area is perfect for hiking, as well as other outdoor activities like biking, wildlife viewing, fishing, and even kayaking. Once used for celery farming, The Celery Fields is a great example of modern preservation.

  • Robinson Preserve — 1714 99th St. Northwest, Bradenton, FL 34209
Just northwest of some of our Bradenton homes for sale is Robinson Preserve. This nearly 700-acre preserve has a variety of hiking trails, wildlife viewing opportunities, and a kayak launch. One of the reasons we love this green space is the new construction of its 2.5-kilometer rubberized pedestrian-only trail. Easy on the legs of both kids and adults alike, this trail lets families of all ages enjoy a long walk.

  • Ola Mae Sims Park — 11800 Erie Rd., Parrish, FL 34219
Ola Mae Sims Park offers a wonderful place for the whole family to exercise. The 2/10th of a mile paved multi-purpose trail provides a simple way to stretch your legs while volleyball courts, basketball hoops, an open playfield, horseshoe courts, and a playground offer fun for kids of all ages. If you're in the area scouting Parrish homes for sale, take a quick break at Ola Mae Sims Park.

  • Emerson Point Preserve — 5801 17th St. West, Palmetto, FL 34221
Explore a number of diverse coastal habitats with a walk through Emerson Point Preserve. Just a few blocks from new Palmetto homes for sale, this preserve features a network of hiking trails that showcase ancient and historic remains from long before Manatee County was a settlement. An outdoor education center, dog-friendly trails, observation tower, and opportunities for kayaking and fishing make Emerson Point Preserve perfect for outdoor leisure and learning.
