Sarasota Manatee Summer Camps for Kids

When it comes to summer fun for the kiddos, our real estate agents have a tip for you: Sarasota-Manatee has some of the top summer camps found anywhere in Florida! The concept of summer camp has sure changed over the years. Now, the conventional "cabin in the woods" approach is just one of many kids can embark on during break. Everything from arts to surfing to engineering is available to the lucky little ones living in our area. With more than 100 active summer camps around Sarasota and Bradenton, picking just one can be a real puzzler. To get you (and the kids!) started, we'd like to recommend five standout camps in Sarasota-Manatee:

  1. Summer Fun at Nathan Benderson Park (NPB) - 5851 Nathan Benderson Circle, Sarasota
Every parent wants their kids to have fun at camp – and learning something new as well is a bonus! At NBP's Water Adventure Camp youngsters learn water safety and water sports techniques including kayaking, rowing, dragon boat paddling, sailing, and canoeing. On land instruction and safety requirements accompany all activities before campers get out on the water, so they obtain the knowledge and safety skills needed. NBP will provide all campers with PFD's (Personal Flotation Devices) as well. If your kids are land lovers, there are camps for Robotics and Coding, Drone Racing and Fishing at Nathan Benderson Park.

All of this fun is just a short hop from Lakewood Ranch homes for sale.

  2. Dream Oaks Camp - 16110 Dream Oaks Place, Bradenton
For children and young adults with special needs, the Foundation for Dreams celebrates the abilities and develops the strengths of children with special needs and chronic illnesses ages 7-17. The staff collaborates with families to provide individualized result-based goals, family support, and recreation in a camp environment. Summer camp programs feature fun activities that are strategically adapted to target specific, individualized goals to produce a comprehensive skill set with productive behaviors. Each unique program is specialized to meet your child's needs and strengthen his or her abilities. Dream Oaks camp is conveniently located from Bradenton homes for sale.

  3. Gator Tens for Life Athletic Summer Camp - 519 South Tamiami Trail, Venice
Founded in 2013, Gator Tens for Life offers summer camps for kids five and up. It also sponsors "Mom's Morning Out" and "Parents Night Out" events. Led by a certified teacher, Gator Tens is associated with a local gym holding classes in cheer, judo, and other sports for kids five years and up. It's a fine way to cap off a season of looking at Venice homes for sale.

  4. Music Compound - 1751 Cattlemen Road and 801 Apricot Ave, Sarasota
Music Compound offers a fun and educational music camp for all ages. Not sure which session to select? The Music Compound team encourages you to enroll the first week of camp, Intro to Music.  Each day features a different instrument, instructor, and approach. Intro week allows your child to select the instrument of their choice for following sessions, which focus on a specific instrument. Each session offers two to three instructors and provides an opportunity to learn three to five songs and perform at the end of the week.  Performances are the last 30 minutes of the session on the last day. Music Compound's music camp is offered in June and July, just down the street from top Sarasota homes for sale.

  5. Sailor Circus - 2075 Bahia Vista Street, Sarasota
What kid hasn't wished to join the circus? Sailor Circus Summer Camp is for children ages 5-15(child must have completed kindergarten by the start of camp), with camp running Monday-Friday 9am-3pm. Campers learn a variety of circus arts including triple and single trapeze, globes, silks, Rolla Bolla, hula hoop, low wire, clowning, flying trapeze, juggling, and much more! Campers enjoy a unique experience where they learn circus arts disciplines and then showcase their new skills with a costumed performance with friends and family invited to watch!

A typical day begins with a warm-up and group stretch, 1-2 warm up circus activities (like circus relay, low wire, unicycle, trampoline, hula hooping, or juggling) snack, showcase act rehearsal, lunch, theater games, arts and circus crafts, showcase act rehearsal, snack, check-out and group games, dismissal. It's so much fun, you just might be tempted to drive from Holmes Beach homes for sale to make memories for your little one!
