Siesta Key FL

9 Things You'll Love About Living on Siesta Key

Life is better at the beach. As Florida locals, our REALTORS® know that's true. If panoramic beachfront views, turquoise water, and sugar-white beaches sound like paradise to you, then buying a home on Siesta Key might be a perfect choice.

Interested? Here's our "short list" of nine things you'll love about living on Siesta Key, Florida:

  1. Let's start with the obvious: our beaches are incredible. Imagine relaxing to the calming sound of waves every day... and our sunsets are simply amazing! It's hard to argue with perfection. TripAdvisor's 2019 ratings just came out and Siesta Key beaches rank as the #6 beach in America and we're always listed among the top 10 in the world.
  2. There are so many great restaurants, it's impossible to choose just one, but if you're in the mood for oysters, get a "taste" of living on the Gulf at the Siesta Key Oyster Bar (affectionately named "SKOB" by locals). There's nothing like slurping down a fresh oyster at SKOB. You'll find SKOB at 5238 Ocean Blvd in Sarasota.
  3. Your toes will be tapping when you visit a local Siesta Key getaway for an evening out with live entertainment. Looking for some nightlife? Head out to The Beach Club, located 5151 Ocean Blvd, Siesta Key. Dubbed as the area's premier location for live local bands, The Beach Club features some of the best entertainment around, a huge dance floor, and drink specials daily.
  4. Going for a run on the beach takes on a whole new meaning when it's on Siesta. Make plans with your family to participate in one of our local fun runs. Find the perfect Siesta Key race in our area and make plans today.
  5. Big fish stories begin in Siesta Key. Charter a fishing excursion with Siesta Key Fishing Excursions at 946 Siesta Drive in Sarasota. Said to be the largest charter fishing service on the Gulf Coast, Siesta Key Fishing Excursions schedules both inshore and offshore adventures.
  6. Aside from the beaches, our community has a vibrant arts scene. Browse places like The Gallery on Siesta Key (5129 Ocean Blvd, Siesta Key), an art gallery and clothing boutique, that showcases beach-inspired paintings, photographs, sculptures, jewelry, and other unique items from local Sarasota artisans. Art Avenue, located at 3501 S. Tamiami Trail, focuses on high-end pieces of international art from well-known artists like Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, and Leroy Neiman.
  7. For a truly unique beach celebration check out The Siesta Key Crystal Classic International Sand Sculpting Festival. This Festival draws master sculptors from across the globe to create incredible sand sculptures. Since its inception in 2010, the festival has become mega-popular with last year's festival welcoming over 65,000 attendees. During the four-day event, participants have 24 hours to create sand masterpieces that transform Siesta Key Beach into an outdoor art gallery. This year's Crystal Classic is November 15 - November 18, 2019.
  8. If you visit Siesta Key, you have to experience the beat of the Siesta Key Drum Circle. Every Sunday young and old, locals and tourists, artists, dancers, and everyone in between gather about an hour before sunset on Siesta Public Beach to watch the sunset, listen to drummers, see dancers, and even marvel at the occasional sword and fire performer.
  9. If water sports top your family's list for fun things to do, it's easy to rent a boat or kayak, parasail or jet ski.

Do we have you convinced Siesta Key is the right place to buy a home? Contact us at Wagner Realty to talk with one of our local real estate professionals to get your home search started.
