Wagner Realty Agents Complete Four Week Training Session

Agents in Wagner Realty's downtown Sarasota office recently completed a four week training program taught by Cindy Greco. The program is entitled "Kick Start Your Business" and covers subjects such as database creation and maintenance, client contact. marketing skills. business planning web based sites, such as Zillow, Trulia, Postlets, Facebook and Homes.com. Agents were taught the importance of maintaining constant contact with clients and providing service beyond their expectations. Attending the entire series in Sarasota were: Eleonore Bauer, Maria Balaz, Caroline Stoltzfus, Frannie Engstrom, Alex Morel, Irvin Spiegel, Mary Lou Spinelli, Louise Tessier, Jack Whittington and Woody Woodworth. The training sessions were held at other Wagner Offices, and have been well received. Wagner has group and private training classes for agents every week, and most are taught one-on-one. Wagner Agents Play Santa Claus for YMCA and Adopts a Couple Families

Guy Woodworth and his wife Kay played Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for the YMCA Bulls Banquet in Sarasota. Guy is an agent in the Wagner Office in downtown Sarasota. Louise Tessier, also a Wagner agent, said her grandson plays on one of the teams, so she was rooting for them at the banquet. Guy and Kay were a convincing couple dressed as the jolly one and his mate, as can be seen in the photo.

The Wagner office in Lakewood Ranch adopted a couple families for Christmas, buying gifts for the parents and children. This has become a tradition with Wagner offices, and the agents have a great time shopping and wrapping gifts.

Wagner Realty Lakewood Ranch Office Adopts Families for the Holiday

Agents in Wagner Realty's Lakewood Ranch office gathered gifts, toys, gas cards, food and clothing to several families have a nice holiday! Helping families with children in Bashaw Elementary School has become an annual tradition, started by Wagner agents Dottie and Paul Wiencek several years ago. After learning of the family makeup and ages of the children, agents went shopping and gathered a lot of gifts that were presented to deserving families. Everyone had fun playing Santa and look forward to doing it again next year! Wagner Realty Holiday Lunch Well Attended

David and Joanne Eckel hosted their annual Holiday Brunch for all Wagner Realty agents, staff and guests. About 150 enjoyed a lavish spread at the Bradenton Country Club. Eckel thanked everyone for their contributions that made 2011 the best year in recent history. Business partners from Barnes Walker Law Firm. Boyd Insurance and REMN (Real Estate  Mortgage Network) and the Bradenton Herald  brought dozens of gifts that were raffled off to Wagner Agents. Also in attendance were representatives from Whitney Bank, M&I Bank, and Stearns Bank and Elliott Falcione, Executive Director of the Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. A special guest was State Representative Bill Galvano, seen in the photo with Dave and Joanne Eckel.

Larry Arnold Joins Wagner Realty's East Manatee Office

Laurence (Larry) Arnold, a former city and county government executive, has joined Wagner Realty in the East Manatee branch office. He has more than 25 years of senior executive experience with local governments and private sector technology companies. Until recently, Larry was Executive Director of Community Services in Sarasota County. He served in management positions for the cities of Port  Orange, Winter Haven and St. Petersburg. 

Larry was born in Rhode Island and received Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees at the University of South Florida. He lives in River Wilderness with his wife Betty, who is also in real estate. He can be contacted at the office at 941-741-2500 or directly at 941-840-4223

 

Bonnie Cox joins Wagner Realty's East Office

After a 30 year career in banking, Bonnie Cox has acquired her real estate license and joined Wagner Realty as a sales associate in the SR 64 East office. She was born in LaHarpe, Illinois and attended Western Illinois University in nearby Macomb, where she received a bachelor's degree in Business Management. She worked for several banks in the area, learning the business. Bonnie's career in banking led her to several branch manager positions. Before moving to Florida, she held a sales position with her bank as Assistant Vice President, Community Banking Officer, selling banking services to small business clients. Active in the business community, Bonnie developed a Women's Entrepreneurial Group, and served on the boards of several community groups. She received her Florida real estate license this year and looks forward to helping her clients find the perfect home for their family. Wagner Realty Supports Boys & Girls Club and Manatee A.R.C. at Diamond Jubilee Ball

Last weekend, Wagner Realty agents assumed leadership roles at the fund raiser for Manatee's Boys & Girls Club  and A.R.C.  Diamond Jubilee. In the absence of the current Hernamdo DeSoto (Vince Eurice), Wagner agent Ken Pearson (Captain of the Crewe of DeSoto) escorted the Historical Society Queen Ellie Ohlman in full royal dress and crown. She placed amulets on the necks of community leaders, including State Senator Mike Bennett and entertainer Billy Rice. As each recipient was called, their accomplishments and contributions to the community were read to the audience by Summer Smith of Bay News 9.  Among Wagner agents in attendance were Tom Moseley, auctioneer for the event and Glen Fausset and his wife Dodie. President David Eckel and his wife Joanne also attended the event and said they were extremely proud of Ken and Tom and all the other Wagner agents who serve on committees and boards of local agencies.

Wagner Realty Agent Receives International Real Estate Certification

Mary Lou Spinelli, an agent in Wagner's downtown Sarasota office has completed the course of study and was awarded the Transnational Referral Certification (TRC) designation from the National Association of REALTORS® ( NAR).  The International Consortium of Real Estate Associations (ICREA) offers courses for the Transnational Referral Certification. These credentials demonstrate investment in and commitment to professionalism. 

The TRC Certification course prepares real estate professionals to make and receive compensated referrals using the ICREA Transnational Referral System and integrate international referrals into their business plans. The primary focus is on educating real estate professionals about transaction principles of international real estate, including specifics on real estate markets, investment trends, marketing strategies, currency issues, and financing.

Wagner Realty Agents Show Support for USF at Brunch on the Bay

Each year, the University of South Florida's Sarasota Manatee Campus celebrates local leadership at a gala called "Brunch on the Bay" on the lawn of the Crosley Estate, adjoining the local campus. Over 1,000 attended the event last week, including a contingency from Wagner Realty, headed by David and Joanne Eckel. Joining them were Gina and Peter Uliano and Tom & Vicky Moseley. David is the past Chairman of USF's Community Leadership Council and has chaired other committees over the years. 

A sellout crowd dined on the bayfront at USF Sarasota-Manatee’s 18th Annual Brunch on the Bay.  Held at the Powel Crosley Estate on Sunday, November 6th, the event benefits USF Sarasota-Manatee (USFSM) scholarships, particularly the First Generation Scholarship, which is matched by the state.  Since its beginnings in 1994, Brunch on the Bay has generated almost $850,000 in scholarships for local USF students.  For 2010-2011, financial aid was awarded to 265 students totaling $167,238.
