Ron Cornette Biography:

Ron Cornette, Marketing and Training Director at Wagner Realty, is a man of many talents. Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ron moved to Chicago, where he studied radio and television broadcasting at Midwestern Broadcasting School and advertising at Northwestern University. After an award-winning career in advertising and marketing in Chicago, he moved to Bradenton in 1971 to open a music store. A year later, his business had grown to a half dozen stores all around Tampa Bay. Ron’s success was profiled in a Bradenton Herald Sunday Magazine article in October of 1972. (As an organist, he was also a popular entertainer in local clubs in the 70’s) Five years later, a downturn in the economy caused organ and piano sales to wane, and Ron decided to get into real estate, believing that industry to be almost recession-proof in Manatee County.

In 1978, Ron got his real estate license and joined the Manatee County Board of Realtors®. Specializing in Property management, he worked for several brokers before he and his wife Ruth opened Coronet Properties in 1983. In 1985, he formed Coronet Management Corporation, where he managed 45 condo and homeowner associations. During the next fifteen years, Ron helped form the Florida Property Management Association and the West Florida Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, serving as president of both organizations. He was named “Property Manager of the Year” and became a popular lecturer on the subject of rental property management and community association management.

Ron remains involved in the Manatee Association of REALTORS®. He served on the Board of Directors for 10 years and chaired every committee. His service to the association earned him the REALTOR® of the Year award. Ron was elected President of the Manatee Association of REALTORS® in 1995 and remains active to this day. He is a past Vice President of the Florida Association of REALTORS® and serves on several committees each year. He was also a candidate for Vice President of the National Association of REALTORS®. Ron has been profiled in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who Worldwide.

After selling his management and real estate companies, Ron Joined Wagner Realty as a branch manager. A few years later, he was tapped to head up the growing rental division. Ron wears another hat at Wagner as an agent trainer, teaching computer classes in marketing, desktop publishing and database management, among other subjects. Ron wrote a course entitled “Basic Training for Florida Real Estate Professionals” which was named Best Education Program in 2002 by the Florida Association of Realtors®. It was also certified by the Florida Real Estate Commission for continuing education credit. Ron teaches that course several times each year. He is also certified to teach a credit course on the Code of Ethics for the National Association of REALTORS®.
